Last I checked most houses where like %20 down payment of the prices, so it varies. At least in Miami, start looking in the for sale ads. You'll need to take out a loan to, that's for sure. I think credit unions give larger loans then banks do because there more stable, but i'm not sure on that. ; I hope that might have helped.

But I guess that's actually what the loan/morgage is for. I just don't know how I would go about getting that loan because I have a 0 credit score (which should be better than a bad credit score).

Kevin took out a first time homeowner's loan from the gubmint. It took a lot of waiting and legwork, but we got a nice slice of pie.

He talked to his bank, and they told him to get in touch with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. He says if you have 2000 dollars, they will pitch in 10000 dollars, and that goes towards settlement. You have to stay in the house for five years and you'll probably be put on a massive waiting list. You need a good faith estimate from the bank on the house that you have picked out, so you need to have one picked out already, tho. I'd say try to find a house you like, get an estimate, and try to aim to get 20% of that value paid off asap, otherwise you'll be responsible for having to pay PMI (Private Mortgage Insurance).
