... That one day I'll be good enough to finish this story.
[[ Please Full View ]] When I heard about this contest I really wanted to participate because I am frankly, addicted to dreams (regardless of my state of consciousness). I, however, was actively trying to avoid doing anything from my "Crystalline Dreams" journal because the unknown factors and lack of skill kind of scare me away from it - but after a suggestion by Spazz ([link]) I couldn't help myself and decided to see if my artistic abilities have come far enough to attempt this story. Unfortunately they have not, but this is the closest that I have ever been, so I'm happy. ^.^ To Explain: "Crystalling Dreams" is the working title for a comics or light novel series that I based purely off of a series of hundreds of dreams that I have had since I was a little kid and have yet to compile into anything that resembles an ordered story structure. The image above is the best that I can currently portray of one of the many repeat scenes that are obviously important to the plot, but always leave me guessing as to what happens next - because I wake up. It's of Krystin (who I believe might be a spectral dragon much akin to those found in chinese mythology) and she is running away / jumping off of a balcony in an attempt to get away from Ilona (who would have the role of emperor in chinese mythology). I do not know what it is that Ilona would do to Krystin, but I do know that it is not good. Media Info Resources: Edit: Oh yeah... if nothing make sense in regards to some of the other elements in the picture, they're just mental notes to remind me of some of the other dreams that this one was connected to. ^_~ Comments
Thanks!
^.^ I'm just worried that I'm going to come back and look at it tomorrow and get all mad because it looks even less like the dream I had than it does now... One day!!! *fist shake* Hehehe.... ^_^; -- YARGABLUMAMBERAGINIUM!!!!!!!! [link] A few parts really stand out on this one. First of course being the hair. It's done exquisitely. Enough to compell me to check out that tutorial you have linked there. Hair is definitely one of the hardest things to do on a character, and I think you nailed it.
The stars of course are magnificient, but the part that really stands out besides the hair is the bottom of this character's body... how its sheer and sparkly... You just get this feeling of delicacy, lightness, and brilliance. And I think its kind of neat and clever that you also chose this spot to put your copyright in Hehe. I'm still trying to sort it all out, but once I actually get progressing on it, I'll be sure to let you know.
^.^ -- YARGABLUMAMBERAGINIUM!!!!!!!! [link] That hair tutorial is awesome and I found it like... ages ago. I don't follow it exactly anymore, but it does show you how to get off to a great start.
There's also a levels trick that you can use to speed things up even further, but that's hard to explain without either showing it in person, or recording a video. The sparkles are actually a copy/paste of the stars layer and then tucked under the already semi-transparent layer of the dress. I didn't know how that was going to work out.. and it's not quite what I was going for, but I liked the effect, so I stuck with it. ^_~ As for the watermark, that's me just trying to break a bad habit. I've been trying to remember to watermark things so that I won't have to either go without or rely on the generic/huge watermarks that everything up. ^_^; -- YARGABLUMAMBERAGINIUM!!!!!!!! [link] |
